Notes for Google Keep App Reviews
1. Yet another app that bundles the website into a webview. Thanks, but I could have done that with a Chrome plugin, for free :-( 2. The only thing it adds is the possibility to display the notes in the background, in a wallpaper-like form :-| 3. But: hiding the application, using „F12“ or so, also hides the wallpaper-notes :-( 4. The hotkey doesn’t work on El Capitan and the „Open at Login“ doesn’t work as the application can’t be added to the „login item list“ :-( 5. Using the browser shortcuts works, which is not cool as using „CMD + left-arrow-key“ jumps back to the login page :-( This is worth one third of what I paid but definitely not €2.99...
Great App
Great App, App icon is very big. It should like Apple Photos and iTunes icon size.
You need to be refereshing the app manually every time. Takes ages for it to come to life and the indian boy doesn’t respond to messages. Would not recommend.
Not bad, but where is search function??
Close to the original web interface of Google Keep but lack of seaching function made this app very inconvenient
I have Notes set up on my desktop, iPad and iPhone. I have notifications set up yet when I write a note, nothing shows up on the other devices, unless I launch the app on those devices, then it will show up in the note app, and on my notification screen. It does not show up automatically as I would have expected it to.
The app has been working as intented on IOS (iphone) but on my OSX Macbook it’s always a struggle as it loses connectivity constantly - and I almost never online. I will look for other apps to sync notes between devices
How on earth can I access my notes while I’m offline! this app is a waste of money! The interface is so buggy, I have to resize the app window to be able to see the notes properly. If there’s a Zero-Star rating, I wouldn’t think of selecting that for a second!
great google keep app
i don’t know why it’s so hard to find a good Keep app but this is the one. i had a request and they responded right away! good dev.
It is a good app that makes it easy to access notes kept in keeper. The only suggestion I have is more of a personal preference - I would love the icon in the menu bar to be able to be black so it blends in with all my other ones. It’s the only color icon I have up there and it drives me crazy.
webpage mockup
not what I expected. It’s basically a stripped web page. Refresh and updates take a while to take affect. Meh….
I have been trying out the other google keep apps. This one fits the bill. It does all the things the phone app does as well and keeps running in the background. I have not had any sync problems. Thank you.
Downloaded and tried logging into my Google account but once the two-factor authentication prompt comes up the app just reverts back to enter your e-mail.
IT WILL CONSUME SYSTEM RESOURCES. A GOOGLE DESKTOP CLIENT FOR G-KEEP IS NON-EXISTENT. THIS APP IS THE COMPROMISE. Search the App store for Googl Keep desktop client and this is the most likely candidate for an unobtrusive, Google Keep sync list for your desktop. KEEP THIS APP CLOSED unless you want to dedicate all your RAM to keeping a notes app always in the background. This app is a resource behemoth, I keep it closed and when I need it I open with Spotlight keyboard shortcuts OR use Hazel app OR Alfred app to quickly open this app and take a note.
I am very happy to see the app is working fine again. The 2step verification was fixed in this update which i contacted the dev for. And they responded rightaway. A worthy Google keep app to have in my Mac.
When you write a note offline it says that it saved it offline. However, when you go back online again your note disappears! I’m looking for an app that can replace the OSX notes app, and if I can’t write notes offline, this keep client is no good. I’m not gonna ask for my money back because this app looks really promising, I really hope future updates fixes this soon. FYI, Im using a late 2012 basic MBP 13" retina. With latest OSX version.
This app is ok and it looks good, but it has one big minus: if you lose internet access, you also lose access to all your notes, which is terrifying. This is not the case with the mobile version. In the mobile version you are able to open, modify, add, delete and do other work on your notes while offline. In this app you can’t even open your notes offline, let alone work on them! Without the offline option, this app is more like a toy and not something you can rely on. Please fix!
Best for Google Keep
If you’re wondering which of these apps is the best for Google Keep then you’ve found it! It’s working great for me :)
Spectacular App with one HUGE flaw!
Great App. Does not cache your notes for offline use. Deal breaker for me.
